For aggressive, corrosive fluids: self-priming, sealless magnetic drive
centrifugal pump with high quality PFA lining

Press Release

Zofingen, 15 May 2006

MKPL 50-32-160

CP's new PFA lined self-priming MKPL-S magnetic drive pump.

For aggressive, corrosive fluids:
self-priming, sealless magnetic drive centrifugal pump with high quality PFA lining

CP is expanding its proven MKPL pump series with the newly developed self-priming MKPL-S sealless magnetic drive pump. This innovation will be presented for the first time at ACHEMA 2006.

CP Pumpen AG is an independent, innovative European company headquartered in Switzerland, with a subsidiary in Germany. In Switzerland, CP Pumpen AG produces premium quality sealless magnetic drive centrifugal pumps and a range of process and special purpose pumps to meet the most rigorous requirements. Since 1948, CP Pumpen AG has been a partner and supplier of pumps to customers in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food and paper industries.

The pumps in the proven MKPL series are sealless magnetic drive centrifugal pumps built to EN-22858 with a robust metal casing lined with high quality PFA, which is firmly anchored into the casing. The shroud is manufactured from massive PTFE and bonded onto a stable carbon fibre composite support to form one vacuum-tight unit.

The MKPL-S model has the added functionality of being self-priming. This extends the range of applications to uses like tank unloading and transferring highly aggressive and corrosive media under safe operating conditions.

Like all CP pump models, the MKPL-S also fulfils the safety requirements of industry today (ATEX II 2 GD T1-T4, etc.). The pump is built from few separate parts, using proven components in a modular system. The MKPL-S gives end-users the following benefits:

  • Safe operation due to the robust metal casing made of ductile iron with a firmly anchored, high quality PFA lining
  • Wide range of applications due to vacuum resistance up to 50 mbar abs and temperatures from -20 to +150°C
  • Self-priming to H = max. 8.5 m due to integrated reservoir
  • High efficiency through eddy current free, non-metallic and vacuum-tight shroud made of PTFE and carbon fibre (optionally in PVDF/CFRP)
  • Open type impeller with good hydraulic performance. Large metallic core provides high stability even at high temperatures
  • Highly engineered bearing made of pure SSIC with large support area. Solid pump shaft made of SSIC in a design suitable for ceramics. Bearing parts protected against loosening by the use of polygon profiles
  • Metallic plain bearing bracket with PFA lining avoids deformations at higher temperatures
  • Simple assembly due to few components
